Mid Century Vintage Hungarian Erika Dining Chairs by Judit Burian circa 1959 with solid beech tapering legs with supporting stretchers to offer extra stability to the frame Beautifully shaped curved seat constructed of bentwood ply for flexibility and comfort and cut out detail to the back rest as a design feature. The upholstery is the original wool boucle textured fabric in remarkable original condition with no damage or unsightly marks or stains to affect the overall condition. The colour is a claret red which can appear lighter or darker depending on light.
The designer Judit Burian was of Hungarian origin and took inspiration from the Scandinavian Designs of the Post War Movement and designed the Erika chair in 1959.
